Marine Detailing for Every Season

Boat Detailing in Fargo, ND

Keep Your Boat Looking as Good as It Runs

North Dakota lakes and rivers are beautiful, but they can be tough on your boat. Algae, minerals, UV exposure, and general season wear all take a toll on both the interior and exterior of your vessel. Without regular cleaning and maintenance, gel coat can fade and oxidize, interiors accumulate grime, and the overall condition of the boat declines faster than most owners expect.

At Detail City in Fargo, ND, we offer professional boat detailing services for a wide range of vessel types, including cabin cruisers, center consoles, fishing boats, sailboats, speedboats, pontoons, and ski and wake boats. Whether your boat needs a thorough interior clean, an exterior wash and gel coat polish, or a full marine ceramic coating, our team brings the same precision and care to every job that we apply to every vehicle in our shop.

Boat Interior Detailing

The interior of a boat sees a unique kind of wear. Between sun exposure, moisture, passengers, and the general demands of a day on the water, surfaces inside the cabin accumulate dirt, mildew, and odors that require more than a basic rinse. Our boat interior detailing service covers every surface in the cabin, from walls and vinyl to carpets and glass, and includes engine room and bay cleaning as part of the scope.

Why Professional Boat Detailing Makes a Difference

Black icon of a hand holding a ship

Gel Coat Care

Gel coat is the primary finish on most fiberglass boats and requires specific products and techniques to clean and polish properly. Our team uses a multi-step polishing process to address oxidation and surface dullness without damaging the underlying material.

Algae and Mineral Removal

Lake water in North Dakota carries minerals and organic material that bond to your boat's surface over the course of a season. Our decontamination process uses acid wash treatment and targeted cleaning to remove these deposits before they cause lasting damage.

Interior Comfort

A clean boat interior makes every trip on the water more enjoyable. Our interior detailing service covers all cabin surfaces, vinyl, carpet, and glass so the inside of your boat feels as well maintained as the outside.

Long-Term Value

Boats that are regularly detailed and properly maintained hold their value significantly better than those that are not. Whether you plan to keep your boat for years or eventually sell it, consistent care is one of the best investments you can make.

Preparing Your Boat for the Season and Putting It Away Right

Two of the best times to invest in professional boat detailing are right before the season starts and right after it ends. Getting your boat detailed in the spring means you are hitting the water with a clean, well-prepared vessel that is ready to perform. A thorough detail at the end of the season ensures that any algae, mineral buildup, and grime from the summer is fully removed before storage, which makes a significant difference in how the boat comes out the following spring.

For boat owners who want the lowest possible maintenance throughout the season, our marine ceramic coating is worth considering. The hydrophobic finish repels water and contaminants so effectively that the boat simply does not accumulate buildup at the same rate as an uncoated surface. Combined with a gel coat polish to prepare the surface beforehand, it is one of the most effective ways to keep your boat looking great with minimal effort between trips.

  • What types of boats do you detail?

We work on a wide range of vessel types including cabin cruisers, center consoles, fishing boats, sailboats, speedboats, pontoons, and ski and wake boats. If you have questions about your specific vessel, our team is happy to discuss it before you book.

  • What is gel coat polishing?

Gel coat is the outer layer of finish on most fiberglass boats. Over time it can oxidize and lose its gloss, making the boat look faded and dull. Gel coat polishing uses a multi-step process to remove oxidation and surface imperfections and bring the finish back to a cleaner, clearer appearance. It is the marine equivalent of paint correction for vehicles.

  • Do you offer marine ceramic coating?

Yes. Our marine ceramic coating service uses a Nasiol marine grade product applied over a properly prepared surface. It creates a hydrophobic finish that repels water, algae, and UV damage, making your boat easier to maintain and better looking between seasons.

  • How long does boat detailing take?

Interior detailing and exterior washing each take approximately one to two days. Gel coat polishing also takes one to two days. Ceramic coating takes approximately two to three days depending on the size and condition of the vessel.

  • Do you offer mobile boat detailing services?

All of our boat detailing services are performed at our Fargo location. We do not currently offer on-site or mobile boat detailing. If you have questions about drop-off or logistics for your vessel, feel free to reach out and our team will help you plan accordingly.
